【 Taipei — March 22nd, 2011 】2011—Ubitus today announced being Ericsson’s official partners in the Innovation Ecosystem Program and the successful integration of its GameCloud platform with Ericsson’s LTE environment as well as the IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS). Together, Ubitus and Ericsson will promote the cloud gaming application to their worldwide client base and the cooperation kicked off at the International CTIA Wireless 2011 tradeshow held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
The live demonstration will feature the newly deployed GameCloud over Ericsson’s LTE network to deliver telecommunication abilities to gaming, such as Presence, Chatting, Push-to-Talk, or video-telephony capabilities leveraging Ericsson’s IMS core networks. Through the LTE dongle and LTE Wi-Fi access point, Ubitus’ GameCloud service is fully integrated with major operating systems such as iOS and Android on terminal devices including iPhone, iPad, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
"With the LTE deployment growing rapidly worldwide, we have strong reasons to believe that we could offer intriguing mobile gaming services to help our customers and partner differentiate themselves among their target consumers. As Ericsson is one of the largest suppliers of LTE infrastructures, we are pleased to be able to work with such a strong partner to kick off a new era of mobile gaming services in North America," said Wesley Kuo, CEO of Ubitus.
Ubitus GameCloud technology specializes in rendering games that require heavy graphics computing on the server cloud. GameCloud processes gaming media into streaming video. Its enhanced streaming protocol allows mobile devices with a thin client to interactively control the application/game remotely through a dynamically-rendered control user interface. In an LTE network, GameCloud can work smoothly with minimum latency so the users will have the consistent experience as playing native games on the device.
